Houston
1. Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States, and the largest city in the state of Texas. According to the 2010 US Census, the city had a population of 2.1 million people within an area of 579 square miles. Houston is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown, which is the sixth-largest metropolitan area in the US of nearly 6 million people.
 

 
San Antonio
2. San Antonio is the seventh-largest city in the United States and the second-largest city within Texas, with a population of 1.33 million. Located in the American Southwest and the south–central part of Texas, the city serves as the seat of Bexar County. In 2011, it was estimated to be the 24th largest metropolitan area in the US with a population of 2.2 million according to US Census Bureau figures tabulated by Business First.

Dallas
3. Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas and the ninth-largest in the United States. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the largest metropolitan area in the South and fourth-largest metropolitan area in the US. Divided between Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman, and Rockwall counties, the city had a population of approximately 1.2 million, in 2010 according to the US Census Bureau.

Austin
4. Austin is the capital city of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Located in Central Texas on the eastern edge of the American Southwest, it is the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 14th most populous city in the US. It was the third-fastest-growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2006. Austin has a population of 790,390 (2010 US Census). The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos metropolitan area, which has a population of over 1,716,291 (2010 US Census), making it the 35th-largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Fort Worth
5. Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. Located in North Central Texas, just southeast of the Texas Panhandle, the city is a cultural gateway into the American West and covers nearly 300 square miles in Tarrant, Parker, Denton, and Wise counties, serving as the seat for Tarrant County. According to the 2010 Census, Fort Worth had a population of 741,206. It has been estimated that by 2030 it will have 1,211,665 residents. The city is the second most populous in the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area.

El Paso
6. El Paso, is a city in and the county seat of El Paso County, Texas, and lies in far West Texas. In the 2010 census, the city had a population of 649,121. It is the sixth largest city in Texas and the 19th largest city in the US. Its metropolitan area covers all of El Paso County, whose population in the 2010 census was 800,647.

Arlington
7. Arlington is a city in Tarrant County, Texas within the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. According to the 2010 census results, the city had a population of 365,438, making it the third largest municipality in the Metroplex. Arlington is the seventh-largest city in Texas and the 50th largest city in the US.

Corpus Christi
8. Corpus Christi is a coastal city in the South Texas region of Texas. The county seat of Nueces County, it also extends into Aransas, Kleberg, and San Patricio counties. The MSA population in 2008 was 416,376. The population was 305,215 at the 2010 census making it the eighth-largest city in the state. It is the principal city of the three-county Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger Corpus Christi-Kingsville Combined Statistical Area. The translation from Latin of the city's name is Body of Christ, given to the settlement by the Spanish, in honor of the Blessed Sacrament (Eucharist). The city has been nicknamed the "Sparkling City by the Sea", particularly in literature promoting tourism.

Plano
9. Plano is a city in Texas, located mostly within Collin County. The city's population was 259,841 at the 2010 census, making it the ninth-largest city in Texas and the 71st most populous city in the US. Plano is located within the metropolitan area commonly referred to as the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The city is home to many corporate headquarters: Alliance Data, Cinemark Theatres, Dell Services, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Ericsson, Frito-Lay, HP Enterprise Services, Huawei, J. C. Penney, Pizza Hut, Rent-A-Center, and Siemens PLM Software.

Laredo
10. Laredo is the county seat of Webb County, located on the north bank of the Rio Grande in South Texas, across from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. According to the 2013 census, the city population was 248,142 making it the 3rd most populated on the US-Mexican border, after San Diego, California and El Paso, Texas. Laredo is part of the Laredo-Nuevo Laredo Metropolitan Area with an estimate population of 636,516. Laredo's economy is based on international trade with Mexico. Most major transportation companies have a facility in Laredo. Laredo's location along the southern end of i35 close to the manufacturers in North Mexico promotes its vital role in trade between the US and Mexico.
